VTube-LASER is used to develop and reverse-engineer tube shapes for STAUFF Australia connected to a dual-head UNISON BREEZE 50 bender.

STAUFF Australia used VTube-LASER to reverse-engineer, measure, and qualify all the tube shapes in a new Hydrant Dispenser truck design in Australia.

​The Refuel International trucks were delivered to the Brisbane Airport in January 2019. These trucks are designed to take fuel from ground storage and pump it into aircraft standing above it.

Customer: Vance & Hines
​Application: Motorcycle aftermarket exhaust

VTube-LASER is used to develop and reverse-engineer prototype exhaust pipes for motorcycles.

Vance & Hines uses VTube-LASER to measure pipe and exhaust shield prototypes then automatically build them to fully-parametric SOLIDWORKS sketches to save time.

Application: Reverse-engineering tubes for aircraft tube replacement

VTube-LASER is used to reverse-engineer tube shapes from planes for retrofit. See the FARO blog for details of the British Airways (London) application.

VTube-LASER is also used at Delta (Atlanta) and United Airlines (San Francisco) for the same purpose.

VTube-LASER is used to measure and qualify tube fabrications by Aircraft Specialty for experimental and kit airplanes. They use a MicroScribe arm.

​Application: Replacement of tubes in fighter jets

VTube-LASER is used to measure and qualify tube fabrications at multiple US Air Force Bases.

  • ​It is used by Hill Air Force Base - a leading metrology facility for the USAF that verifies or reverse-engineers tube shapes for USAF applications.

  • ​It is used at Nellis Air Force Base to fabricate new tube fabrications on a CNC bender.

VTube-LASER is used to inspect tubes for the U.S. Navy in its submarine building.

VTube-LASER is used to inspect tubes for military drones. Sometimes these tubes are longer than the reach of the arm, so this customer uses the easy Leapfrog capability of VTube-LASER.

VTube-LASER is used to check the hydraulic lines for excavators. The tubes usually have yellow or black surface coating.

Application: Hydroformed truck frames

METALSA uses VTube-LASER to measure pre-hydroformed truck frames to adjust benders so that the pipe fits into pre-crush presses.

Application: Truck, bus, and van exhaust

DINEX uses VTube-LASER to measure and qualify tube shapes for truck, bus, and vans.

MEC Inc. uses VTube-LASER to measure and qualify tube shapes for the large truck industry. One of the images on the right shows their large YLM bender in Greenwood, SC which VTube-LASER connects to for automatic correction.

Customer: Auto-Jet Muffler Corporation
Application: New school bus exhaust

Auto-Jet Muffler Corporation (Des Moines, Iowa) specializes in school bus exhaust systems. They use a FARO Edge with VTube-LASER to qualify super large diameter parts and adjust a bank of BendPro-controlled benders.

Application: New truck and bus exhaust

RIKER PRODUCTS (Toledo, Ohio) uses VTube-LASER to measure and qualify tube shapes for the large truck and bus industry. RIKER connects to a network of several large-diameter PINES benders that were retrofitted by SMT Industries with the Advanced Tubular CNC Bender ProControls.

 

Customer: Dynacraft
Application: New truck fuel and brake lines

VTube-LASER is used to measure tube for the large truck industry. This customer replaced two MM5000 measuring centers with two FARO-based VTube-LASER systems to adjust a bank of benders that are connected directly to VTube-LASER.

Customer: Parker Hannifin
Application: Oil and mining industry equipment

VTube-LASER measures tubes for the mining industry. This customer measures very long large diameter pipe on the shop floor.

 

Customer: General Electric Scotland
Application: Undersea oil caps

VTube-LASER is used to measure tubing that surrounds undersea oil caps with hundreds of hydraulic lines.
